Without deviation from the norm, progress is not possible. Frank Zappa

As soon as you function to please others, it is over. Fuck all of them. George Carlin

Everybody is going to hate you anyway…
so you might as well give them a reason. Ice-T

If everyone likes it, you’re doing something wrong.
If everyone likes it, it’s probably kind of mediocre. Rick Rubin

This new album by Devil Dandy is a research project to see
what can more adventurous music bring and offer to mainstream music.

Ever since Check Your Head by The Beastie Boys came out, I can’t remember an album that was so diversified, original, mind blowing and full of super rich musical ideas. These guys weren’t afraid to explore new ways of making music and were assuming every bit of it.

With this project, I wanted to pay homage to these great artists that have fuelled my imagination over the years and to all the musical influences from all around the world that have inspired me, amazed me, and taught me a great deal about music and human cultures. All cultures and musical ideas are welcome and embraced in my music.

What you’ll hear are not remixes but brand new original remakes
with custom tailored music to fit as best possible
all the prouesse and finesse of the classic Beastie Boys vocal style.

I gave myself the liberty to do all the music I wanted to do in this project with no restrictions and regardless of what anyone would think about it. And if you don’t like it, George Carlin has the answer for you.

Be all you can, be your potential. Ricky Powell, The Rickster

This project might change or even disappear completely at any time,
savour it while you can!

The New Style!

Check it out

All this music is 100% original and no uncleared samples were used to make it.

This project is still ongoing and isn’t entirely finished.
It could be way better, but it takes a huge amount of time to build these compositions.

If you’d like to see this project go further or if you’d like to hear more music like this come out more often, you can:

→ buy my previous albums
→ buy me a coffee (Ko-fi) to help me keep going
→ make a recurring monthly contribution
for new and fresh musical ideas to be explored, also via Ko-fi
→ donate as much as you want, also through Ko-fi

Thanks for encouraging independent free thinking music of today!
